and in the art club while listening to African-American musicians going back to early jazz and blues singers to the more modern music that the students themselves listen to. Mrs. Jordan’s Social Studies classes also made posters for the halls of the student building and have many activities planned for Black History Month. For Black History Month we will have a daily question for the students to answer. The student with the most correct answers at the end of the month will win a gift card. Students will also be given puzzles, coloring pages of influential African-Americans, and fact sheets for their bell work. Mrs. Jordan will be putting together a program planned for the end of the month. The Language Arts and Reading teachers will be working with the students to create some readings, and we are trying to find groups of students who would like to perform (singing, dancing, or readings) related to the accomplishments of the many great figures in Black History. We are hoping to also have a motivational speaker for the students. If you would like to suggest a speaker please contact Mrs. Horton ext. 602 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
